While doing some recon for my newsletter on relationships (hop on that party train at the bottom of this page if you haven’t already! ;) I discovered that The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition defines RELATIONSHIP as: the condition or fact of being related; connection or association.

Our connection to SELF is ā-number-one, NUMERO UNO, thē most important RELATIONSHIP in our life! Putting yourself first is not selfish. It is self preservation! (As well as the preservation of everyone else around us! Who wants to hang with a grump? ;) I think of it as the mask on a plane idea - In. Real. Life! - taking care of yourself first, in order to then be able to help others…
Being YOUR best - whatever that looks like for YOU!
Kicking the idea of perfection to the curb and high-fiving YOUR progress!
Walking YOUR walk and talking YOUR talk - authentically, with integrity.
Honestly checking in - sitting with and listening to the discomfort clues, discovering what YOU truly want and need.
How are you speaking to yourself? Listening to the words you are choosing… are they kind and supportive?
Are you “shoulding” on yourself?… If you think you “should”, ask yourself “why”… kindly, as an observer, without judgement!
Quality time in this relationship = quality life! Truly love “the one”, all else falls into place… 😉

Our food choices can be influenced by various factors like education, socio-economic status, food access, agricultural practices, religion, learned beliefs, etc. Is your current way of connecting with food beneficial to YOU?…
Choosing, eating and connecting consciously - tuning into your body’s sensations, needs and messages… What are you feeling? How are you connecting?…
Tuning into emotions and cravings with compassion & without judgement (No beating yourself up here!)
Tapping into intuition, gently asking yourself questions that examine your food beliefs and self imposed rules… Are they beneficial to your overall health and wellness?
Reframing and adjusting as needed, beginning with the tiniest of changes and building from there, brick by brick… (just like a solid improv scene! ;)

Our connection to SOCIAL MEDIA and SCREENS can often operate on autopilot, manipulating our thoughts, emotions, actions and time! Is your association/connection to social media and screens currently working for you?
Live consciously by checking in and tapping into greater awareness in the moment - how you are connecting?
Kindly seek out your “why” - Are you enjoying or avoiding or learning or seeking validation or… ?
Are you being fueled or drained by this relationship?
How much time are you spending pining for or focusing on [fill in the blank]?
Is your current way of "connecting" beneficial to your overall health and wellness?
Zero judgement here, only observation…

Our relationships, whether to other people, ourselves or to the things in our lives, can fuel us or drain us. What has worked in the past may not work any longer…
THERE IS NO UNIVERSAL “RIGHT” WAY!
There is only discovering and then implementing what currently works best for you - amazingly awesome unique BAD*SS YOU! Your current beliefs, habits and ways of connection or association, relationships, have formed over time and can evolve. Long lasting beneficial change doesn’t happen overnight.
When reflecting and creating change please be gentle with yourself; proceed with caution, compassion, kindness and patience. You know yourself best. You are the expert on YOU! You already have the ruby slippers. Take those tiny steps, one by one to PROGRESS! And, always obtain support when necessary.
